Full-Length Curtains Guide
A guide to getting curtain length right: floor length, a slight break, or a puddle. This is a strong opinion topic for Katherine and only lightly touched in past interviews, so a short interview will make the draft sing.
Interview Questions for Katherine
- What length do you recommend as standard, and why? (We will lead with your view that below-sill length looks like a measuring error and should be avoided.)
- Floor length that kisses the floor, a slight break, or a full puddle: when do you use each, and which do you steer most clients towards?
- If a client wants the puddled look, how much puddle is right, and what are the downsides (cleaning, tripping, pets, dust)?
- When do you hang curtains high, close to the ceiling, to make a room feel taller? How high is too high?
- How do you handle radiators, window seats and bay windows when curtains want to be full length?
- What are the fabric quantity and cost implications of full length versus sill length?
- How do you measure so the length is perfect and they never end up hanging short?
- The most common mistakes people make with curtain length?
- A project where a dramatic full-length treatment really transformed a room?
- A customer review about a full-length curtain job we could feature?
Draft
The draft will be written straight after the interview above. There is enough of Katherine's view on length in the archive to shape the structure, but not enough to draft in full without putting words in her mouth.
