Part of protecting your relationship is telling you the truth early. When a designer recently specified goblet headings for a narrow Islington townhouse, we flagged before anything was cut that the curtains would not stack back off the glass in the daytime and would block a good deal of light. The spec changed, the client was delighted, and the designer avoided a problem that would only have surfaced after installation. Honest advice, given quietly and early, is part of what you are paying for.
Every curtain and blind is handmade in our workroom in Acton, West London. We make lined and interlined curtains, hand-finished Roman blinds, roller blinds, sheers and soft furnishings, working across the fabric houses your schemes call for. The difference is rarely in one dramatic detail. It is in the meticulous measuring, the planning, and the finishing that add up to something that hangs and sits exactly as it should. From there we measure meticulously, confirm the detail with you in writing, and keep you updated at every stage so there are no surprises. You can specify the fabric yourself or have us source it, and you stay in control of the design throughout. Clear communication is the whole point: you always know where your project is, which means you can always answer your client with confidence.
Because designers commission us regularly and hold the client relationship, we work with you differently to a private homeowner. On a whole-house project the fabric is usually specified or supplied through you, and we quote for the making, so the numbers stay clean and transparent on your side. We are set up for ongoing working relationships rather than one-off jobs, and the designers we work with tend to come back project after project.
